SMTP Authentication Set Up

In order to help fight SPAM and clear up some of the problems you may have been experiencing with your email, Chapel Communications is implementing SMTP Authentication on all of it's email servers. In order for your email to work properly, you will need to activate this feature in your email program. It's a fairly simple process that usually only requires you to turn the feature on in the program.

To make this as painless as possible, we are providing detailed instructions for the most popular email programs out there. Click the link on the right that corresponds to the program you use to check your email, and follow the step-by-step instructions.

Note: If you have more than one email account with Chapel, you will need to set this up for each account.

If there is no walkthrough for your email client, please email support@chpl.net and request that we create one. Please make sure to include the name and version of the program.

If you only access your email through one of our web site interfaces (i.e. you go to http://mail.chpl.net:8383 to use your email and never use a program on your computer) you DO NOT need to make any changes to your account or computer. SMTP authentication is already active on the websites.
