SMTP Authentication Set Up


  SMTP Auth with Outlook 5 for Mac

It's a good idea to have your Chapel Account Information handy when you follow these setup instructions.
  1. Open Outlook.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Accounts, that brings up the Accounts window.
     
  3. Double-click on the email account that is listed on the Mail tab, that brings up the Edit Account window.

     
  4. Most of the Edit Account stays the same. At the bottom of the window under Sending Mail change the following:
    SMTP Server: MAIL.CHPL.net or WHATEVER YOUR SERVE IS  (Example ZEUS.CHAPEL1.COM)

    then Click on the barely visible Click here for Advanced Options button.
     
  5. In the little half window that comes up:
    Check SMTP server requires authentication
    Click the bullet Use same settings as incoming mail server
    (or you can click the bullet next to Logon Using, and enter your email username and password from your Account Information

    Click on the little box in the upper left hand corner to close this window.
  6. Click OK, you're done!
